The story behind GCC
Grandma’s love lives on, one cat at a time.
Grandma’s Cat Coalition began with a love for cats and was named in memory of Eleanor Horst of Red Wing, Minnesota—a true cat lover.
That love grew into a mission here in Lime Springs, Iowa, where too many cats and kittens were being born outside, abandoned, injured, or left without an advocate. We knew we couldn’t save every cat, but we couldn’t look the other way.
Today, GCC is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing rescue, fostering, adoption, TNR, education, and practical support for local cats and the people who care for them.
We may be a small-town rescue, but we’re determined to make a big difference—one cat at a time. 🐾
